5 Steps to Perfect Peace

Life can be challenging with all its difficulties and decisions that we have to make each day. Therefore it is important to our spiritual renewal and inspiration to have peace.

Here are five (5) steps to follow, especially to those who aim for a well-lived life.

1. Guard your thoughts:
Our life is what we make it by our thoughts and the things we do. Hence we should guard our hearts and mind. The wise man Solomon alluded to this when he said. "Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life." Be careful of those thoughts.
Proverbs 4:23.

2. Whatever things are lovely think on them:
It is the state and attitude of our mind which determines whether we are happy or sad. Paul said in the Book of Luke. "The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good, and the evil man out of his evil treasure brings forth what is evil; for his mouth speaks from that which fills his heart.Luke 6:45

3. Cultivate a strong mind:
If you are weak in will you have no one to blame but self, we all have choices, let us cultivate habits that will improve our mind and actions. It was Paul who reminds us, "For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses...we are taking every thought captive." "Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on the earth."
2 Corinthians 10:3-5; Colossians 3:2

4. Exercise your will power:
Everyone is endowed with a will and can, therefore, make changes to his character. Encourage yourself, be optimistic. God is able to help you if you ask Him. It is said.  "A cheerful heart is a good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.
Proverbs 17:22.

5. Take responsibility for your actions:
Everyone is responsible for what he allows his mind to dwell on, he is responsible for what he thinks and things he does, the way he chooses to live his life. No one can compel him to do what he does not want to do.

"Concern yourself more with accepting responsibility than with assigning blame. Let  the possibilities inspire you more than the obstacles discourage you."
Ralph Marston
